Microsoft Live OneCare is one of the latest additions to the vast array of pc security software available in the market today. Live OneCare is a comprehensive suite of personal computer management software that allows you to protect your pc from the latest threats surfacing on the World Wide Web. Apart from the usual antivirus capabilities, Microsoft also incorporated spyware protection and other management functions into the Live OneCare Suite. There’s more than one computer at home? Fret not, each copy of Live OneCare comes with 1 year of service for up to 3 computers in your home network, including unlimited phone and email support! Let’s go on and explore the capabilities of Live OneCare as we walk you through the features one by one.

Anti-Virus & Spyware Protection

Windows Live OneCare offers certified protection against viruses and other forms of malicious code. It automatically updates itself when you connect to the Internet, for the maximum hassle free experience. OneCare uses Windows Defender to protect against spyware. Spyware and malware are malicious programs that attempt tosend your personal information to its creators without your knowledge or permission, and can slow down your computer and cause pop-ups to be displayed while you're browsing the Internet. With LiveOne Care, all your spyware, malware and virus problems will be kept at ease, ensuring the perfect user experience on your Windows Vista PC.

Firewall

Live OneCare also includes a managed, bi-directional firewall. With its easy to use interface, LiveOne Care ensures that information flowing in and out of your computer is policed properly, ensuring that the legit data packets are allowed into your computer, and information flows out only when they are allowed to. The incoming portion of the firewall in OneCare helps to ensure your computer is protected against hackers and malicious codes that you might come across while using the Internet. The outgoing part of the firewall in LiveOne Care ensures that all your personal information is kept at bay.

Backup & Restore

Keep important files, photos, and music safe by backing them up to the location of your choice: Local Drives, CDs, DVDs, a networked computer, or nearly any data storage device. OneCare will reminds you of scheduled file backups and performs data backup automatically. Up-to-date backups ensures the validity of your files in case of data loss or corruption, and you can restore your files easily on any of your computer that's running LiveOne Care.

The new centralized data backup feature in Windows Live OneCare enables users to configure and monitor backups for up to 3 PCs per subscribtion to a single location automatically. OneCare is the only service to offer a comprehensive and centralized backup management, ensuring the full integrity of your data.

Choosing to back up your files to an external hard disk frees you from having to keep track of whether your files are backed up. As long as your external hard disk drive is connected to your computer, Backup automatically checks to see if you have new or changed files and backs them up for you according to a schedule that you set.

You can also back up files to writable CDs or DVDs or to a networked PC. Windows Live OneCare can also back up files to your iPod, USB-enabled storage device, flash-memory sticks, and many other external storage devices, as long they have enough space for you to do that?

Multiple PC Management

Windows Live OneCare is a pioneer in managing multiple PCs, allowing a central computer to monitor and take action to help restore other covered PCs to a secure "green" state. The OneCare circle of protection also evolves as your home network grows by automatically identifying and helping protect new PCs and other devices as they're added to the network. Windows Live OneCare can automatically configures all PCs in the user's OneCare circle so that they can easily print from any PC to a supported USB printer attached to any other PC in the same circle. This makes it simple and easy for all computers to use the same printer.
